The making of a legend starts from a strong foundation in the form of the ground work of making mash from handpicked and specially grown barley. The mash is ground and mixed with pristine source of spring water and is further heated to 65°C.
The wash is distilled and condensed in traditional copper stills, and the output of this step is further transferred to spirit stills for the second phase of distillation. This process is closely monitored by our stillman who finally decide the “cut point” at which the birth of a legendary dram of about 70% ABV is declared.
“Good upbringing plays a critical role in the development of a personality that can conquer the world and win the hearts”. Therefore, as a part of its upbringing, the young Glenmaster is housed in finest American oak & Spanish Oloroso casks.
In addition to a strong foundation and a good upbringing with precision and care, a lot of patience and effort is required to monitor the growth of a legend. It takes years to mature. This wait is a way of life & tradition for Glenmaster.
It requires a great amount of passion, strong values, dedication, attention and hard work to make Glenmaster. To be honest this is our life.
Since the inception of Gelnmaster, we are the same and we love to be old-fashioned. We are very stubborn about our principles and due to this, we had to stop our production many times for many years. However, our passion to continue the legacy was much stronger every time we revived the production. Ours was a very humble beginning with the aim to reach out to the farthest of the shores to promote the passion of artfully crafted Scotch Whisky. Given that whisky is mostly assessed and valued by its label and packaging and is sold with the help of big budget marketing campaigns, not many people attempt to understand “what is inside the bottle”. We strongly believe that “what is inside the bottle” is more important than any other thing while making our product.
